The Ice Cream Cone

Ice cream cones burst onto the American scene in 1904. The place was the St. Louis World’s Fair. An ice cream vendor had run out of paper dishes to serve his cold treat; fortunately a nearby vendor was selling waffle-like pastries, which he supplied to his neighbor. After rolling the waffles into cones, they were filled with a creamy scoop for fairgoers to enjoy! The popularity of this new treat skyrocketed, and, from that day to this, there have not been found many better treats to enjoy on a hot day.
