The Blood before the Crown

Jesus' blood and crownIndian bracelets of scarlet and gold illustrate Jesus’ sacrifice of His life to pay for our sins, before He recovered the glory and honor of Heaven.

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
~ Hebrews 12:2 ~

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

~ Philippians 2:8-11 ~

Valley Forge, PA

Photos from a family trip to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania

Imagine the Patriot army living in these huts through weeks of bitter winter.

We are blessed to have the heritage of courage, sacrifice and liberty that we do in the USA, and we remember and thank God for those who gave so we could have it. May we cherish and protect what they fought for.

A season-appropriate quote from the land of Narnia. The Baby born in that stable changed everything! Merry Christmas!

Banyan tree

The material for this post was shared by my dad during a family trip to India 10 years ago 🙂

Banyan trees have special significance in Asian countries.
IMG_6661

Vines drop down from branches and join and grow into the trunk, thereby enlarging the tree.
IMG_6551

This results in a sturdy tree with thick roots.

IMG_6662

This tree is significant because of the importance of family in Eastern cultures.
IMG_6666

As children grow up, marry, and have children, they’re not just starting new homes, but enlarging the family. Staying connected.
