Lets Be Real: Women in Combat

Great article on why women’s place is not the battlefield.

WARFIGHTER

Female Marine recruits prepare to fire on the rifle range in 2013 during boot camp at MCRD Parris Island, S.C. The Marine Corps plans to establish an experimental force consisting of at least 25 percent women to determine how females perform in ground combat jobs. (Scott Olson / Getty Images)

It’s not all about qualification. I’m speaking as a female Marine Iraq war vet who did serve in the combat zone doing entry checkpoint duty in Fallujah, and we worked with the grunts daily for that time. All the branches still have different standards for females and males. Why? Because most women wouldn’t even qualify to be in the military if they didn’t have separate standards. Men and women are different, but those pushing women into combat don’t want to admit that truth. They huff and puff about how women can do whatever men can do, but it just ain’t…

You can attend! Living History Days 2013

Hello all!

Do you enjoy history? Do you like watching historical movies? Did you ever wonder what it was like in the tumultuous but exciting days of the American Revolution? Well, you have the exciting opportunity to find out!

I wanted to let you know of a great event taking place on September 27 and 28, 2013, called the Living History days, done by Visionheirs. If you are in the Denver area of Colorado, I would strongly encourage you to attend. There are skits, volunteers costumed as colonial characters, reenactments of battles, booths and demonstrations on agriculture, the military, colonial food, gun making, and woodworking, activities to do, and more!  We really enjoy attending this wonderful experience of 1700s colonial America. 😀

Here is the link with all the information. Please share this event with anyone who may be interested! Thank you!

Thank God for Ronald Reagan!

Thoughts of a Theophilus

Just a quick post, or long post as the case may be, today, guys.  Today, if you don’t have it marked on your calendar like real conservatives do (or are oblivious, like me, and forgot to write it down), is President Ronald Reagan’s 102nd birthday.  The man who led America through the end of the Cold War, the man won by a 49 state landslide in 1984, the man who inspired a nation, passed away almost 9 years ago.  However, his legacy lives on.

One of my favorite things about Reagan, is he said so many things that I could never see a president saying (especially not a certain person currently in office).  It’s like seeing one of our Founding Fathers as president in the 80’s.  He was completely unafraid of what people would think.  He knew the truth, and he wasn’t scared to say it.  For this post, I…

Roots Growing Deep

Once a leader succumbs to pride, he disqualifies himself from holding a position of power because he can no longer fulfill one of leadership’s most important tasks: to guard and guide those under his authority. Self-centered leadership is an oxymoron.
